However, the king was determined to have Rara Jonggrang as his wife. He captured Bandung Bondowoso and forced him to work on building a thousand temples in just one night. The king believed that this was an impossible task, and he hoped that Bandung Bondowoso would fail and he would be able to marry Rara Jonggrang.

However, Bandung Bondowoso had supernatural powers, and with the help of the genie, he was able to complete the task in just one night. When the king realized that his plan had failed, he was furious. He went to see Rara Jonggrang and tried to force her to marry him.

But the princess was smart and had a plan. She told the king that she would marry him if he could build one more temple. However, this temple had to be completed by dawn. The king agreed to the challenge, not realizing that Rara Jonggrang had tricked him. She asked all the women in the kingdom to start pounding rice and create the illusion of the rising sun.

The king was fooled by the illusion and thought that dawn had arrived. He stopped the construction of the temple and failed to complete the challenge. The king was so angry that he turned Rara Jonggrang into stone, and she became one of the statues in the temple.

The temple is now known as the Prambanan Temple, and it is believed that Rara Jonggrang's spirit still lingers there. Visitors can see her statue and hear her story, which has become one of the most famous legends in Indonesia.
